Closing the Door, Keeping the Memories

Updated: Mar 17

Last week, I handed over the keys to my first "adult" apartment—an empty space now, but once the backdrop of my growth, dreams, and countless memories. Walking in, I was one person; walking out, I was someone entirely different—in the most humble way.

This apartment wasn’t just four walls and a roof; it was my safe place, my starting point, a place that shaped me. I’ll never forget driving along the waterfront, manifesting that one day this town would be my home. And then, the moment I signed the lease—equal parts of being proud of myself and a.. WTF, I actually did it?!

It’s only when we walk away for good that we truly see how far we've come.

The thing is homes are chapters in our story - and within those four walls, they hold your accomplishments, failures, laughter, sacrifices and dreams. It was within this home that I started many new beginnings in my life- a relationship, career, owning an investment home, living with someone and getting engaged. It's seen me grow, it pushed me to want better for myself, and to always follow my heart.

And though this chapter is closing, the memories don’t stay behind. They come with me - it's who I am and who I’m becoming.

So, as I turned the key one last time, I didn’t say goodbye—I said thank you.

Thank you being my calm, for witnessing my journey, the lessons, for the quiet moments, and being my safe place in the in-between. Though I move forward to new beginnings, a piece of my heart will always belong there.

Here’s to new beginnings and the stories yet unwritten! ✨🏡"❤️ #443
